Dr Prue Stone is a child and adolescent psychiatrist, recently retired from practice. She obtained her medical degree at Oxford University and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, and, following a number of years in paediatrics and services for the intellectually disabled, trained in psychiatry in Sydney and Melbourne. She moved to Perth 20 years ago, where she became Clinical Director for WA Country Health Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, until 2016. Mainly using telepsychiatry, she provided clinical work and supervision for the rural and remote CAMHS clinicians. She developed a training program in core clinical skills and created a supportive Network across the State, both successfully using videoconferencing. Until retirement, she maintained a part-time private practice with considerable involvement in the care of children in Child Protection.
